This is the Z sustain board for the LG V6 PDP unit. This board is fitted to all V6 PDP units and failure of this board is quite common. Now available from us at more cost effective price. This board used to cost around £160.00 plus VAT and still does from other suppliers.

Failure of this board is quite common and commonly causes a sound no picture symptom and it can also cause a very dark picture symptom whick looks no luminance with only chroma present. It is also worthwhile checking the Y drive lower board in a V6 set as per our other listings. You may also notice that one of the white fuses on the board has blown, this is a definite indication of a fault on the board. If you have any of these symptoms then this board should be replaced.

The board fitted in your set will have the part number 6871QZH033A. The board supplied is the same version and has part number 6871QZH033A. This version of the board is the latest version and can be used as a replacement for the following part numbers:

This part supplied is as supplied by LG for engineers to fit. Only purchase this part if you are knowledgeable in the repair of electrical equipment.

There are various photographs shown in this listing which will allow you to comapre your defective Z sustain board against the new one that is supplied. If it is not identical do not purchase. Please get in touch using the technical support email address shown later in this listing.

If this is board has failed in your set it is advisable to make some further checks to ensure the new board lasts a long time. The crucial parameter to check is the 15V rail which is measured on the far left connector of P3.This voltage is marked on the pcb at this point. It is ok to run the set with the defective Z board in place, even if the white fuse is blown, and measure this voltage. It must be 15V and if signifficantly lower, say 12V then there is a fault on the Y sus board. The 15V is generated on the Y sus board 6871QYH029A and further repairs are required. It is possible to have the Y sus board repaired but it can also be changed as well for the 6871QYH029R which is the latest version. Check our Television Parts section for this item.

Replacement of the board is quite easy. It is easier to work with set face down on a large flat surface. Make sure no tools or screws are allowed near the edges of the set as they can cause a nasty scratch if you move the set. Remove the connectors that go into P1, P2 and P3. Then slide forward the locking bars on P4 and P5 and this will allow you to slide out the flat cable connections to the PDP. Be especially careful with connectors  P4 and P5 as these are flexible strip connectors. If the flexible strips that connect to the PDP get ripped then the set is finished. Next remove the 5 board securing screws and lift the entire board out from the set. Fitting is the reverse of this procedure. Take care with connectors P4 and P5 as the flexible strip can be easily broken. Furthermore check all connectors are  refitted and secure in place. Take your time and double check this so that no damage occurs at switch on.
