Item specifics
Condition: NewBrand: Valvetron

For sale is a brand new fully assembled Valvetron Deluxe 5E3 guitar amp. Without doubt one of the most professional built and looking amps available anywhere at the price, all Australian made by hand by me. This amp has just raised the standard of amplifier construction, sound and quality to a level that is difficult for most amp makers to reach. The standard amp as shown in the photo's is available in kit form  for $499. (I will list one as requested, kits take 2 weeks each to produce ready for shipment, this time will improve as I am able to get some reserve stock of chassis and transformers produced)

If you live in Adelaide I have an early prototype available to audition just email me for contact information.

About this amp

The amp will be custom built for the winning bidder as shown in the photo's, assembly and wiring time to postage ready is 11 working days from time of payment, warranty is a full 12 months including valves. All Valvetron amps are built and tested in Australia, and supplied tagged and tested for safety ready to use. All of my amplifiers come complete with parts wiring diagrams and schematics, all modifications are documented.

Features

Uses the standard 5E3 circuit without any changes or modifications as the standard amplifier sold here and available unmodified.

As each amp is custom built there are plenty of modifications that I can make to the standard amp on request (within limitations of cosmetics), All parts are brand new including valves. (NOS types are available on request but priced at current market prices), all valves of current manufacture by Shuguang.

The chassis is chrome plated steel, NC punched for precision and superior sheilding against hum and noise. All controls and ledgends are silk screened with white lettering so that the amplifier has a mirror finish. All preamp valves come with valve sheilds to reduce noise. A 5AR4 rectifier is used instead of the original 5Y3 due to higher and more reliable specifications. All valves are retained by either valve cans or retaining clips to make sure if the amp is used in a combo that valves simply don't fall out. The amp has a professional high grade finish to the chassis and all point to point wiring is of broadcast standard using high grade components, as shown in the kit photo. I believe customers should always be able to see what components go into my amps. All transformers are made from high grade Japan GOSS core, output transformers are the same ones I make for my Radford STA10 and STA15 studio monitor amplifiers, each one comes with a transformer cover to reduce noise.

Specifications

Ouput power 17 watts RMS into 8 ohms at 10% distortion

14 watts RMS into 8 ohms prior to clipping

Controls power, standby, tone, volume ch1, volume ch2

Valves 2 x 6V6, 1 x 12AX7, 1 x 12AY7, 1 x 5AR4

Chassis chrome plated steel NC punched and silk screened with white ledgend

Knobs Burgundy chicken head

All inputs and outputs use 6,5mm guitar jacks.

2 x bright inputs 2 x normal inputs

2 x speaker outputs (total load 8 ohms)

Options

As each amp is handbuilt there are many options that can and can't be included in this amp. Limitations are due to front panel silk screen ledgend only. For extensive modifications where different or extra controls are required I am able to make a custom engraved front panel or the amp can be built in a 3RU rack case which allows lots of panel space. If you need a custom modification just ask.

Options easily added to this amplifier chassis

Mode selector switch to select between Ultralinear mode (ideal for bass and Keyboards), Triode mode (for Jazz guitar and non guitar amp use), pentode mode (for all guitar use). Cost $55

Joe Meek LDR compressor limiter on Channel-1 (normal channel) with adjustable  level on rear panel. $75

Extra overdrive module added to bright channel adds another 10db of gain and a soft limiting effect. $100

Master gain mod, volume-1 sets the input volume for all 4 inputs and volume-2 is the master volume.(Free no charge)

Dummy load and headphone socket, headphones can be used with either speakers switched on or off (to dummy load) for practice without loss of tone. $55

USB record output to PC, software supplied. $100

Analogue record output 500mv  RCA $10

Use of 500 volt and 1000 volt SEMCO silver mica capacitors throughout the amplifier $100

Series speaker connection output socket instead of paralell , with the normal amp there are two speaker outlets you can use one 8 ohm cab or two 16 ohm cabinets. In the series modification you can use a single 8 ohm cab or two 4 ohm cabs in series to give an 8 ohm load to the amp. no charge.

Additional options with 3RU rack case instead of standard chassis (add $150 for rack case and custom front panel and custom PCB assembly)

Bass treble middle controls for both channels $80

Full parametric master  EQ , includes bass, mid, mid2, high, frequency and level controls (8 controls), 2 x stereo FX loop send with pan pots, line input  range on all control is +/- 15db centre frequencies are 5k-12k, 1k-6k, 200hz-2k, 30hz-300hz  $660

Vibroluxe 5F11 conversion with depth speed and volume $100

Due to space limitations in the standard chassis  I can build a 5E3 in a 3RU rack as an alternative (PCB version only) with any of the rack version options. I also have available PCB sets to build about 140 of the different Fender amps in this manner including Bandmaster and bassman amps.

Reverb option available with a reverb tank and driver circuits. I have two different tanks a small generic (from Antique audio supplies) and a limited number of Hammond L100 organ tanks. Not well known is the fact that Leo Fender ordered Hammond tanks on early reverb amps with different spring sets, I can retrofit a Hammond tank with newly produced spring sets made in Australia. Costs for reverb small, add $140, for a modified Hammond tank $250.

Network (ethernet 10/100) controlled dynamics processor (Dynabolic) fully configurable with remote desktop, with front panel bypass switch for non DSP processing. $999

30/50/100/150/200/300/500 watt RMS all valve booster amps available if you need more power.

All amps are shipped registered and insured with Australia Post, all warranty is RTB (return to base) and covers a full 12 months. All out of warranty work is charged at a very reasonable rate. Free lifetime phone and email support just see my feedback.
