Thorens TD 147 Jubilee
- ORIGINAL Tonearm Mounting Plate -

This is a sad day for me, as my beloved project must be discarded, as life presents itself with more pressing and challenging issues.
What I have in several listings, is a complete Thorens TD 147 Jubilee Edition Turntable from 1983. It is (i believe) one of the rarest of Thorens Turntables, as only 5000 were made and distributed worldwide. One rarely sees a decent example for sale, and I've NEVER seen one parted out, and sold off in pieces. Unfortuanately, this one will be.
I acquired this Thorens TD 147 Jubilee Edition in working order with the plinth and lid in fair cosmetic condition and a broken tonearm wand,- sadly the gold top plate was of no use as it hadn't been looked after very well. Fortunately, all the mechanics and electrics were OK - so I decided to embark on a restoration that included a much larger and heavier one piece solid timber plinth routed and hand carved to accomodate all the original parts, with the top plate timber veneered also. The platter was to be plated gold, with the original teardrop knobs replaced with gold plated metal knobs, and the tonearm would also make way for a Syrinx PU2 Gold Plated Edition (which will also be for sale in due course). The woodwork was to be finished in high gloss Piano Black. Hopefully, your mind's eye, can picture what I had planned for this little gem - but, it's not to be!

Needs a wipe over due to a little dust and my digit prints!!
