AN EXCELLENT COPY OF THIS CLASSIC COUNTRY 78 FROM MITCHELL TOROK
Mitchell TorokMitchell Torok began his career as a songwriter for various artists. His first hit, "Mexican Joe", was performed by Jim Reeves in 1953. Torok himself was signed to the Abbot record label in late 1953 and hit number one in both the Billboard country and juke-box charts with his song "Caribbean". Along with a string of various charted songs, Mitchell Torok also had success in the UK charts with his songs "When Mexico Gave Up The Rhumba" and "Red Light, Green Light". This success led to him touring the UK in 1957. His last U.S. chart was "Instant Love" in 1967. He continued to co-write with his wife (under the pseudonyms Gayle Jones and Ramona Reed) and some of his songs have been recorded by the likes of Skeeter Davis, Glen Campbell and Dean Martin. Mitchell Torok is also a talented painter and has a painting on display at the Elvis Presley Museum in Nashville. CARIBBEAN(Torok)
