Instructions
How to apply our iron-on patches
-
Switch OFF the steam setting.
-
Do not use an ironing board - a heat resistant hard surface should be used such as a table or counter top.
-
Set the iron on the required setting. Allow time for the iron to get hot. For cotton use the cotton/linen setting, this is usually the highest heat setting.
-
Place a thin cotton cloth, such as a T-shirt, pillow case or tea towel, onto the hard surface. Place the garment on the cloth.
-
Place the iron-on patch in the required position on the garment with the glue side facing the garment.
-
Cover the patch with another thin cotton cloth (T-shirt, pillow case or tea towel).
-
When the iron is hot, place it on the cloth, above the patch, and press as firmly as possible for about 35 seconds. (You may need 10 seconds longer for heavier fabrics such as denim). This melts the glue backing on the patch and attaches it to the garment.
-
For large patches, the iron may need to be lifted and applied to any unheated sections. Do not slide the iron around on top of the patch.
-
Let the patch and garmet cool, then turn it over/inside out so that you can then heat the garment behind the patch.
-
Repeat the process on the rear of the garment/patch.
-
Allow the patch and garment to cool completely before handling.
- NOTE:
- Wash the garment at low temperature. In the unlikely event that a patch loosens or comes away from the garment, it can be re-attached by repeating the above process.
- Warning
- Children should not try to iron on the patches on their own. Irons are dangerous and should only be used by an adult or under adult supervision.
