This very good quality example is typical of the late Victorian period style of manufacture, and also colouring, with a rich patina to the timber.
The desk is made in one piece for extra strength and stability, standing on plinth type bases each side, and having a total of nine slide out graduated drawers, each with ornate art nouveau style handles.
These drawers all slide smoothly, and all except one have the original brass locks to which we do not have a key, but will try to find one that works prior to delivery.
The desktop has a detailed edge and an inset green tooled leather writing surface that is in excellent order, with a good pattern that matches the walnut timber very well indeed.
The desk is generally in excellent order, with some light chips to the veneer near the base from past use, and some old worm holes inside the kneehole, that are long since polished over and certainly not active.
If you are seeking a quality Victorian antique desk, then this piece will be one of the best available today, and will enhance any home.

DELIVERIES
We will deliver free of charge to addresses within all of London, plus the following, East Sussex, West Sussex, Kent, Essex, Hampshire, Dorset, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Middlesex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Suffolk.
Other areas of mainland England, Wales and Scotland vary from £65 to £150 in the very north of Scotland and we only charge one price for up to five items, with extra items possibly slightly more depending on their size.
We usually deliver within a week to ten days of cleared payment being received but in some cases, delivery may take up to three weeks.
Customers wishing to collect from our warehouse in East Sussex may do so by appointment only, and in this case may pay cash on collection if preferred.
Overseas
Please note that our delivery prices start from around £120 in Europe upwards for other areas of the world and please enquire before bidding.
Payment
Please note that as we have full UK banking debit and credit card facilities, we prefer not to accept Paypal in any case, and that our preferred methods of payment are as below, so please remember this when bidding.
UK customers may pay by cheque, debit card, credit card (Visa or MasterCard) bank transfer or cash on collection.
