The Renaissance, the French Revolution, World War II - where were the women?  How did they spend their days?  Volume II of A History of Their Own completes the original and revolutionary synthesis of European women's history begun in Volume I.   The women's activities and concerns explored range from those of seventeenth century Venetian courtesans to nineteenth century English factory workers, from those of Catherine the Great to Simone de Beauvoir.  Both volumes use the newest research in the field to provide a vivid and exciting view of women's lives.

Volume II examines women in the noble and royal courts, middle-class and upper-class women in the salons and parlors, and working-class women in the vast cities of the modern era.  It concludes with a history of feminism in Europe.

This large, 572 page hardcover is illustrated with black and white photographs.  This book is ex-library and as such has all the usual stamps and stickers, however there are no external markings.  The dustjackets does have a light patch of fading to spine where library sticker has been removed, very light creases to edges and the book is slightly askew.  Internally there are some light marks to page edges (these do not impact on page face) and there are a couple of grubby finger marks, however these are very few and far between.  It is otherwise in a good, tight condition.
