To Rudyard Kipling  and Andrew Carnegie,  Industrial Revolution and Wars plus many more famous people and events.

Book has some water stains across the top and some pen ticks in the story of Rudyard Kipling (someone must of been doing an assignment on him).

Foxing, a neat name and newsagent stamp on fep

Dust Jacket has been taped to inside boards so there is tape residue and tape. a 6cm x 2cm piece is missing from back and foxing.

Chapters range from early man, the Roman period, Merchant adventurers, play-houses, St Pauls, Crime and Punishment, Charles Dickens, Ghosts, etc

 

Has a neat inscription on inside front cover with the date 1952,

this book complements the above book very nicely, giving a more indepth view of London.

a 1cm tear on page 63 and spine has cracked on page 64.

all pages are intact and none are loose.

No dustjacket, book is faded on bottom edges of spine, cloth has 2cm split on bottom edge of spine and a 1cm split at top.

Boards are still attached.

Fair to good used copy.

As New - without faults or defects.

Fine - approaches the as new condition but not as crisp, may of been carefully read, but no real defects or faults.

Very Good - a used book that does show some signs of wear, but no tears.

Good - describes the average used book and has all pages or leaves present. Any additional faults will be listed.

Fair - a worn book that has complete text pages, but may lack endpapers, half title page. Binding, dustjacket etc,may be worn. Additional defects will be noted.

Poor / Reading Copy - a very worn book, that has all of its text pages in place and is still legible but its only merit is to be read.
