BIOGRAPHY Gracie was born circa 1956 at Utopia. She is the daughter of the famous artist MYRTLE PETYARRE. A rich artistic tradition runs in Gracie’s family and she is related to well respected artists. Her aunties are : Gloria, Kathleen, Violet, Ada Bird Petyarre all well established artists. Gracie now lives in the Central Desert. Gracie is one of the senior traditional custodian for both the Altyerre (Dreaming) and the vast expanse of related country. In accordance to traditional law the responsibility for the Bush Plum Dreaming has been passed down to Gracie from her father and her aunt, who are responsible for ensuring that she perseveres its traditions. Gracie began painting in the 1980 working with batik, then started painting with acrylics on canvas. Gracie Pwerle Morton is an important Australian artist represented in throughout the world May International Law in London.
