ARTIST: KAYI KAYI NAMPITJINPA TITLE: WOMAN`S DREAMING DATE: 2000 SIZE: 100 X 50 CM (APROX. 3` 3 1/2`` X 1` 8``) MEDIUM: ACRYLIC ON HAND-PRIMED LINEN CODE: GPN/ARTSPEAK 00203 PROVENANCE: COMMISSIONED BY RESPECTED PRIVATE DEALER: PETER LOS
KAYI KAYI NAMPITJINPA came to the attention of collectors when she and other senior Pintupi women created a group painting for the Papuny Tula: Genisis and Genius art exhibition staged at the Art Gallery of NSW for the purpose of showcasing some of Australia`s most renowned Aboriginal Art to date for the 2000 Olympic Games held in Sydney. The accompanying book for this exhibition titled: Papunya Tula: Genisis and Genius is shown in this listing, which also shows Kayi Kayi second to the front of her contemporaries in one of this book`s photographs. Also included is a photograph of Pintupi women decorated in ceremonial bodypaint, which lends to the content of this painting. Another publication that features Kayi Kayi is also shown in this listing and is a new biographical book titled : THE LIVES OF THE PAPUNYA TULA ARTISTS, which features the many artists, who have had an involvement with Papunya Tula Artist`s during this Aboriginal artist`s company`s existence. FREE DELIVERY AND INSURANCE WORLDWIDE with this painting delivered rolled in a tube together with its accompanying documentation, or COA, which includes the image of Kayi Kayi shown with her grandchild standing outside the artist`s community art studio and supplied by ARTSPEAK STUDIO GALLERY. This work also comes with a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. Payment from anywhere in the world is made easy through money transfer from one’s own bank, direct bank deposit and PayPal. Bank and personal cheques are also accepted. This listing offers an opportunity to collectors to acquire one of Kayi Kayi Nampitjinpa`s more earlier paintings, which she did in her own right; meaning that this artist like many of her senior female Pintupi peers are thought to have started their painting careers assisting their famous husbands with their art making, but began creating their own work after their male counterparts passed away. In relation to Kayi Kayi, this artist is said to have started painting for Papunya Tula Artists in 1998 and she and her peers really inspired the Aboriginal Art arena with a style of Pintupi work, which was different to the men`s paintings and very capturing with it`s bold expressive imagery, which this beautiful work on offer well demonstrates. Void of representational forms and decorative elements, this work by Kayi Kayi Nampitjinpa, who is a traditional tribal woman, is purely ethnographical Pintup Art and it is superb both in substance and quality and comes from well respected provenance from outside this artist`s own Aboriginal Art company. I personally love this painting and trust that it will find an equally impressed collector.
With a very low `starting price` and very fair `buy now`in this 5 day only listing, which will end at around 1:15pm `down-under` time in Melbourne....HAPPY BIDDING or BUYING and GOOD LUCK!
