This is 1 of 2 stunning 'Women's Body Painting' by the late ADA BIRD PITJARA/PETYARRE, one of the famous sisters from Utopia.

Both of these paintings are from our own private collection.

We purchased them direct from Ada in 2003.

They have been professionally stretched by Desert Edge Framers of Alice Springs.

Whilst they are great as 'stand alone' paintings we have always hung them as a pair.

An ideal purchase for anyone looking for an investment.

Sadly, Ada passed away recently.   She suffered a stroke not long after completing these paintings a couple of years ago and did not paint again.

This painting depicts some of the markings used by women to paint their bodies when conducting women's ceremonies.

We consider this to be the oldest form of Aboriginal art.
