Type: EXCELSIOR TELEGRAPH MATCHES  

This is an antique copyright secured 1879 cardboard empty box that held Excelsior Telegraph matches from Detroit, Michigan.  The box is 4 1/8" wide by 3" deep by 3/4" thick and is in nice condition.  It does have some wear as shown in the pictures along with one corner that has come apart on the interior box.  It has part of the original internal revenue tax stamp on the one end as shown in the pictures.  The amount of the stamp is one cent.  The box also says on the one corner, "Copyright secured 1879".  This is a wonderful antique match box to add to a collection.    If you have any questions please ask.   I accept payment thru Paypal.   I do combine items to save on shipping.  Good luck bidding and thank you for looking at my items.
