ANTIQUE BLUE OPALINE 'EGG' CASKET, ART NOUVEAU, FLAWED
Magnificent! A sad story though.. You look at this one and see both an impressively sized opaline glass egg, in blue (one of the more rare of opaline colors) with raised enamel decoration and an extremely unique Art Nouveau style.... Then you open it and see the sad story. Apparently cracked on its way to us from France but just so wonderful that we had to keep it, now offer it to you. Yes, there is a large cracked area on the back of the lower half of the glass egg but isn't that about the best possible positioning for one. Set it on your shelf, amidst your other fine antique French opaline pieces and you'd never know it was damaged. Anyway, still an exceptional piece....one of the first that we've found with such a distinctly Art Nouveau influence! Priced....well, we've priced it with the damage in mind, mostly hoping it can be appreciated rather than sitting here amidst our inventory.
As is. The pictures show the crack well, we haven't done anything to it but could put some epoxy on the inside to strengthen it if the buyer wishes. See pictures for measurements.

Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is recieved (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat $35.00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges. Other Information:
