Offered here with NO RESERVE, is an ANTIQUE CAPSTAN CIGARETTE COMPANION BOX, with an EMBOSSED COPPER LID showing WIND WAITING and WATCHING SAILORS AT A WHARF PYLON! A good time to pull out your smokers box, and a deck of cards to pass the time! The background has sailboats and sailing ships, one Sailor looks out to see with a telescope. Inside the lid is a list of original contents, including a CAMEO GLASS ASHTRAY, see pictures, long missing I am afraid. The edges of the box are tattered, and lid and latch are still hanging by original tape, this is unrestored. Patented and marked press stud is present, see pictures. Lid copper has original tarnish, and is unpolished. A rare find in original condition, it will delight the collector, and will be a pleasure to restore, or display well as is. To the best of my knowledge, it was made over 90 years ago. It measures 2 1/2 inches high, by 6 3/16 inches wide. Pictures show condition well, as GOOD for it's age, with heaps of appeal!
