This gorgeous carved gold painted big cabinet is a true testament to ancient Chinese craftsmanship.
A intricate motif dominates the facade, with rich tones of black and delicate gold, red and green represented in a stunning and detailed display over a vibrantly warm black. The top and sides are a rich dark timber colour with gorgeous distressing, allowing the flower decor carve and paintings to become the dominant focal point.
The two door panels discreetly open up two shelved cupboard spaces with ample storage in this attractively decorated cabinet. There are three drawers inside the lower cupboard with beautiful painting. The shelf is removable for extra large items, and ease in cleaning. In addition, there are another small open door underneath with the similar tone of painting. The most special for this item is it is made of three separated small cabinet, which make it easy to move around.
This is a very traditional piece, handmade with rudimentary tools, using professional carpentry skills that the ancient Chinese are so well known for.
Our Antique restoration division has lacquered the entire piece to protect the paintings , leaving it with a professional finish that will last a lifetime. New Hardware (Door handles) have been added as the originals had long past their lifespan. We have not restored the piece itself, only added lacquer to maintain the condition of this wonderful piece.
We also ensure that each piece has been properly dried in a professional Dry Room to ensure adaptability to the Australian environment (Many importers of reproductions and antiques do NOT do this - and the products begin to crack and split within months)
