~ FRISTER & ROSSMAN SEWING MACHINE For the collector or display this wonderful piece of history is a gem.
The timber case for this machine is beautiful on it's own. Quartered walnut burr veneer & marquetry that is a delight.
The machine serial number is 1163189.
The sole ENGLISH distributer at the time was W. Pierssene 49 FORE STREET, LONDON.
This is a very early machine. I believe the early records for FRISTER & ROSSMAN were destroyed during the war but from the internet I believe that this serial number is early. The decals are in excellent condition and everything turns when the handle is rotated.
On one side of the timber case the corner turned decoration is absent and there is some veneer damage that I have photographed.
The timber lid of the internal attachments area has two timber edge pieces missing. I do not believe that the instruction booklet is for this machine but for a later model and a few pages are missing.
My photos give a good assessment of the condition of this beautiful old machine.
My photos are the best description. Please take time to enjoy them. 'A picture is worth a thousand words' and my pictures are part of my description.
