Antique wooden miniature chest / desk. Made well over 100 years ago, but exact date not known.
11.5 inches long; 8 inches tall; 5.5 inches front to back.
May have been a salesman's sample and may have been a child's toy. Would make a wonderful jewellery box today. Beautifully constructed a long time ago.
Long, deep drawfront divided into two compartments, at the bottom, right accross the front. Above it is a much narrower/shallower drawer with no division. A desk / writing surface above that and recessed behind is a set of 6 smaller draws, all but one divided into two sections. The draw pulls are made of natural material, we are not sure exactly what, and some have a little bite missing here and there (as shown in 'photos).
The draws are beautifully constructed with fine dovetails. Due to age, the wood has separated and someone, apparrently a long time ago, has filled in some of the gaps - see 'photos. There is one little chunk of missing wood - seems to have fallen away due to age, not damage. The rest is in good shape, with plenty of signs of age and use - certainly not pristine.

OVERSEAS: please ignore the automatic calculated fee that Ebay supplies. It is not accurate.
