ANTONIO BORSATO ~THE LONE PAINTER~ EXC. COND

This treasure is a GREAT example of the master's work. It is in MINT Condition, and stands at 30cm or about 12 inches tall by 13cm and 13cm in diameter on the base, and bear the number 4.

Borsato originals were sculptured in the full-round with no blank surfaces with the entire piece completely hand colored with brilliant artistry. All stages were attended to by Antonio Borsato himself. It is assuring to note that no Borsato was produced in mass or even left the studio without the Borsato hallmark worked permanently into the piece. This serves as a valuable asset to the Borsato owner. Borsato works of art are irreplaceable just as are the works of other Old Masters. His impeccable faithful adherence to detail, , facial expression, fingers, even eyelashes, gestures,  anatomical perfection and combine to endow each of Borsato’s works with breathing realism. A Borsato art treasure is an exquisite masterpiece to be cherished as an heirloom to be handed down to future generations. Antonio Borsato died in a car crash in 1982 at the height of his creative genius. I believe he was the finest Italian porcelain sculptor of the 20th Century, surpassing other Capodimonte sculptors, even his mentor the great Cacciapuoti.

No wonder Antonio Borsato is considered the Michaelangelo of the 20th Century, with some of his works even displayed in the vatican; and in significant collections and museums, including the personal collection of Henry Kissinger.
