WHAT IS AROMATHERAPY?
AROMATHERAPY is the controlled use of plant-derived aromatic oils for therapeutic purposes, whether to remedy a cold, assist in healing a burn, to uplift and energise, or to aid the insomniac in falling asleep. Basically speaking, AROMATHERAPY is about the effects of Essential Oils on both the body and the mind, achieved by absorbing the oils through the skin via massage or aromatic baths, or via the nose using oil diffusers or vaporisers.
Be wary of fake, or synthetic versions of Aromatherapy oils. True ESSENTIAL OILS are plant derived and entirely natural, and are believed to possess numerous healing qualities. However, if a product is called a 'fragrant oil' or 'essence' then it is a synthetic version and carries no therapeutic benefit. The packaging may even include the term AROMATHERAPY, but unless it uses the words Essential Oil, you can guess it's a fake - and quite probably made with petroleum-based ingredients. AROMA QUEEN uses only 100% pure Essential Oils and we include the full plant name on every label, so you know exactly what you're getting. AROMATHERAPY SAFETY NOTES
As a general rule most Aromatherapists advise against using Essential Oils during pregnancy, though others disagree. Oils to definitely avoid during pregnancy are: Arnica, Basil, Birch, Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Cypress, Fennel, Jasmine, Juniper, Marjoram, Myrrh, Peppermint, Rosemary & Thyme. Also steer clear of Lavender & Rose during the first four months of pregnancy.
Anyone suffering from epilepsy should avoid Sweet Fennel, Sage & Hyssop.
People with high blood pressure should stay away from Hyssop, Rosemary, Sage & Thyme.
All Essential Oils should be diluted in a CARRIER OIL (eg, Jojoba or Sweet Almond Oil) before application to the skin. Dilute at a maximum ratio of 3%, less for around the facial area. The only exceptions are neat Lavender or Tea Tree, which may be used directly on burns or small wounds. See our for AROMA QUEEN'S Carrier Oil range.
A few oils cause photosenstisation, or sensitivity to UV light and should not be applied to skin before exposure to the sun. These include: Angelica, Bergamot (unless 'Bergaptene Free'), Cumin, Lemon, Lime (unless 'Distilled' rather than 'Cold Pressed'), Orange & Verbena.
Never ingest essential oils. Always KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN: large amounts of Essential Oil may be toxic if swallowed. Immediately contact your local Poisons Hotline if ingested. If Essential Oils get into eyes, immediately wash with whole milk or carrier oil, followed by water. Some people may experience an allergic reaction or sensitisation to a specific oil. If this is the case, discontinue use immediately.
Always remember, Aromatherapy is intended to complement, not replace traditional medicine.

Payment may be made by DIRECT DEPOSIT (preferred), PAYPAL or VISA / MASTERCARD if you call your number through. Please make your full payment within 72 hours of auction end in order to avoid the item being relisted. If you need additional time to pay, simply make contact and let us know. If paying by Direct Deposit please add the Ebay AUCTION number as a reference otherwise there may be a delay in processing your order.
SHIPPING
We're happy to combine postage for all auctions completed within a 7 day period, and always aim for the most economical postage option available. Generally pay the standard postage for the most expensive item, then add $1 for each bottle of Essential Oil, or $2 for any other AQ product, to a MAXIMUM of $12.00, no matter how many items you buy (usually much cheaper). Simply request a total from the Checkout Screen and we'll send through the updated postage cost (please don't rely on Ebay to be accurate unless you've requested a total). Items will be shipped as soon as possible after payment has been received, and we'll confirm their status every step of the way.
Once you have received your item, we'd be grateful if you could leave feedback to let us know the item has arrived ok. If there's a problem please contact us before leaving feedback and we'll do everything we can to resolve the matter. Once we are sure you are satisfied, we will then leave positive feedback for you. Please check our feedback score if you'd like confirmation on our reliability.
PLEASE NOTE: Once the item has been posted it is the responsibility of Australia Post and we cannot be held accountable should it go missing. If you require REGISTERED POST, which includes a degree of insurance, please let us know before making your payment and the fee will be charged at cost (usually $2.70).
