A retrograde feature is something that is usually found on $3000 watches and is one of the most advanced features that can be put into a modern watch. The retrograde adds a level of sophistication and flair to any watch, making something which is already a marvel of the watchmakers art into something even more spectacular.

            A watch with retrograde seconds works on a principle of splitting the seconds into two halves, 0 to 30 seconds and 31 to 60 seconds respectively, usually there is a single second hand showing the elapsed time in a single motion around its axis, with a retrograde you get a fabulous "jump back" when the next hand picks up the timing and the first one is reset. This gives the watch an utterly unique appearance which is just not found on any common watches.
