A very nice selection of Australian Kangaroo stamps perforated for "Official Service" and three lovely "Privateers". Centering ranges from the outrageous (the 4d ORANGE but interesting in itself) to the superb (6d ULTRA "T" and "Small OS" perf). Please note the 'over-inking' on the 2d GREY (second stick) "Small OS" ~ a very interesting stamp. Most of these are 1st or 3rd Watermark series (1913 and 1915-1924). The 3d OLIVE "Large OS" CVs (Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue 2004) for $60 by himself ~ and this one is a gem. The three 'PRIVATE Perfins' are lovely. A nice 1st Watermark 2d GREY "FHS" ~ Francis H. Snow ~ Patent agent & Commission merchant ~ King William St ADELAIDE SA (listed by John Mathews, Handbook of Australian Private Perfins as 'Scarce'). Also, a very pretty 6d GREY-BLUE "RI Co Ltd" ~ Royal Insurance Co Ltd ~ MELBOURNE VIC (Listed as Very Common) and a 1d RED "PL & B" ~ Paterson, Laing & Bruce ~ Warehousemen, soft goods & furnishings ~ 13-15 Flinders Lane, MELBOURNE VIC (listed as 'Rare' especially on a Roo and postmarked Launceston!).
