The Azolla is a fern-like plant that floats on the surface of still water. It multiplies very quickly and is perennial. Each plant grows quickly up to 2-3 cm with roots that hang down into the water. It remains a beautiful fresh green if shaded for some of the day. In full sun it turns reddish brown as it gets older.

Azolla is a great plant to keep water clean by reducing sunlight, which stops algae growing, and for protecting fish and other aquatic animals. It can be grown in any size pond or water feature, including pots.

This auction will provide enough plant to cover an area of about 50cm square
