Drum carders considerably speed up the carding process, but I've discovered that not all drum carders are equal. This machine was built by a British engineer, from tough metal panels, with a chain drive-belt. No plywood & rubber bands here. The result is an incredibly hard-wearing piece of equipment.

I never thought I would sell this drum carder, but I loved using it so much that I've just invested in a David Barnett machine. I hope the new owner of this one will be as pleased with it as I have been.

• Generous size of carding area, which maximises volume of fleece carded at one time.
• Very time-efficient method of carding larger volumes of fleece.
• Solid construction, from hard-wearing materials.
• Third photo shows drive-band chain, when guard is removed.
  
• Carding cloth has strong steel pins & tough rubberised backing, for durability.
• Suitable for wool & other fibres.
• The drum position is adjustable, allowing you to control the pressure of the pins on the fibres. See 4th photo on right.
• Six rubber feet help to prevent scratching of your table & to help stop the machine slipping.
• If you ever use the machine so much that the carding cloth needs replacing, it is available on the internet & can be re-fixed to the wooden drums. 
• A drum-carded batt of Jacob fleece is shown in the pictures on the right (not included in sale).
• Condition is good but this machine has been used & is not sold as mint. There are a few microscopic light scuffs to the surface & the occasional slightly buckled pin. Of course, these minor cosmetic marks do not affect the carding performance. 
• I will include some instructions on how to use a drum carder, but I do not have a specific instruction book for this machine. It is very easy to use.

• This auction is for one drum carder machine, doffer pin, cleaning brush, table clamp & general instructions. 
• Overall machine size approx. 14" long x 9" wide x 9" high (35.5cm x 23cm x 23cm) when folded, excluding handle. With feeder tray down approx. 18" long x 12" wide x 7½" high (48cm x 30cm x 19cm) including handle.
• Drum width approx. 6½" (16.5cm) wide.
• Drum diameters approx. 2" (5cm) & 6" (15cm).
• Batt size approx. 6½" x 20" (16cm x 50cm).
