What are some of the common uses for ozonated water?

Ozone is a an amazingly powerful oxidizer with numerous applications.  Ozone is commonly used as a means of air purification because of its effectiveness at killing many forms of bacteria, mold, mildew and other micro-bugs.  In the same vein, ozonated water is used to thoroughly cleans and remove unhealthy contaminates from vegetables and fruits.  Ozonated water can sometimes be substituted for the harsh and dangerous chemicals used to clean kitchen countertops, sinks, and bathroom floors.  There is no better way to remove noxious odors than dousing its source with ozonated water.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Attach one end of the included air tube to either of the two diffusers and the other end to the output pipe on the bottom of the ozone generator.  Place the diffuser in the container of water that you intend to ozonate.  Push the yellow "on/off" button on the front of the machine to activate the unit.  You can adjust the output time in intervals of five minutes by depressing the "+" or "-" buttons. It's that easy!!

 Each hour the ozone output is 200mg, it can sterilize about 50 liters water in a batch type process. The concentration depends on the output, air/water volume. Normally when we treat water, we suggest not to exceed 0.05ppm. So we suggest to use it in a specific area, not too small, otherwise the ozone concentration is too high. When we treat water, PPM is not often mentioned, as the ozone can be dissolved in the water. The ozone can be active even in lower temperatures. Water temperature is not important.

Ozone in the air will convert to oxygen in 15-20 minutes. In water, ozone can be dissolved into the water, but after 20-30 minutes, it turns to oxygen also. So it is advised to use the ozonated water within half an hour of sterilization. If you want to store ozone, you can't use water, but olive oil, since it is a denser liquid. Then it can be cooled to hard ice in the fridge.

Which Model of the Air Purifiers is Most Powerful

The M3188 is more powerful, it's output is 200mg/hr. The maximum time it can be operated with the automatic timer is 30 minutes, after which it switches off. This is a safety feature so that the ozone concentration in confined spaces does not build up to toxic levels, especially when used in laundry, kitchens or bathrooms. Remember that ozone breaks down into ordinary oxygen within 20 to 30 mins, so if you want to sanitise a room, switch the unit on for the max time and close the door. Re-enter the room after at least an hour has passed. The ozone will attach itself to smoke and dust particles which are now heavier than air, and fall to the ground. It is then necessary to vacuum these particles on a regular basis.

Do you have to remove the rubber hose when not using the unit for water?

The hose is used for water with its stone disperser. You don't have to remove the tube if you don't want to. The ozone still dissipates through the tube and stone into the air.

 

Does the M3188 have any parts or filters to replace?
The M3188 only pumps ozone out. There is nothing trapped. It does not have any filters, there is nothing to change.

 

I have several smokers in my household. How long do I need to operate the unit, and how big a room will it be effective in?

Room size depends on smoke concentration (how many smokers?). If you have an average sized room of 30-40 sq meters then operating the unit for 15-20 minutes daily should solve the problem. This one has added functionality with regards to it's ability to purify water. If this isn't a feature that is particularly important to you then you should consider another model 

 

How do you sanitise water?

It's a batch process type. It can sanitise 50 Liters in 5-10 minutes. Depends upon the end usage of the water. It will sterilise in approx 30 mins.

As the photos demonstrate, a tube transfers the ozone from the unit to the water. The ozone is dispersed through the water by a special pervious ball shaped stone. The ozone remains effective in the water for 20 to 30 mins, during which it sanitises the water.

 

Can I leave the unit switched on all the time?

The device has a timer that can be set for 5 up to 30 minutes, after which it switches off automatically. It can't be left on at all times, because this is a safety feature. The output of this device is 200mg/hr, hence the safety precaution. Ozone breaks down back into ordinary oxygen after approx 30 mins. If the room in question was for example small like a laundry or toilet, then the toxicity would build up quite fast, making it a health hazard to people with respiratory problems. That is why the max timer is 30 mins. Yes it can be moved from room to room.

Principle: An ozone sterilizer is a multi-function device, adopting the same principle as the generation of ozone by lightning in nature, (ie, using air as the raw material to generate ozone). It uses the high frequency corona discharge for the purposes of sterilization and disinfection. Having strong oxidizing properties, active oxygen (ozone) at certain concentrations can change into oxygen, without any residue or secondary pollution, so it is praised as the cleanest oxidant and disinfectant, a true gift of nature. In daily living, we can always feel that the air is especially fresh after a thunderstorm, which is the effect of ozone (active oxygen).

How Ozone works? An ozone molecule is formed by the combination of an oxygen molecule (O2) with an oxygen atom (O). This O atom is freed by ultraviolet radiation in sunshine, or produced by high voltage lightning. Most ozone exists naturally in forests and on seashores.
