Amanda Krantz ORIGINAL PAINTING "Wildflowers"

I am a contemporary Australian painter and I work from my studio in Brisbane, Queensland. In 2001, I completed a Bachelor Of Visual Arts at the Queensland University of Technology. Since then, I have fostered an eclectic arts practice, and in recent years, have been afforded the privilege of painting on a full time basis.

I draw inspiration from my immediate environment, my travels, memory and imagination. I take particular notice of the contrasting colours and textures found in nature and I enjoy interpreting this in a vivid and playful manner.

Each work is multi-layered and the paint is applied with brushes, pallet knives, straws, sponges and other unique objects. I use a combination of traditional and non-traditional techniques and experiment with paint mediums, colour and texture. It is this element of risk, employed in the studio, that ensures the growth and development of my work.
