Uncleaned good condition coins with nice details, you wont get ugly slugs

 

Diameter of coins: ~25mm

 

 These coins are at least 800 years old

 

Dynasty: Northern Sung (960 - 1127 a.d.)

Emperor: Hui Tsung (1101 - 1125 a.d.)

Reign Title: Cheng Ho (1111 - 1117 a.d.)

The unique design of the Chinese coin reflected the round sky covering the square earth. This concept was adopted from the very first ancient Chinese coin. In addition, the design also enabled civilians to string them together in bulk for easy carrying.

 

 Unlike ancient roman coins which were struck, those Chinese coins were cast in a mould. The Chinese had minted coins like these for centuries.

 

By obtaining pieces of ancient Chinese coins, you will not only appreciate the patina but also the calligraphy on the coins.
