Offered for your consideration is an original "Ansonia King" mantle clock that has been well cared for & is conserved in pristine condition.
It was made in New York USA around 1885.
It is fitted with an original, optional alarm mechanism with key. It sounds a gilded bell which is set through the alarm ring positioned on the centre of the face.
The 8 day precision brass movement is complete & original. It keeps accurate time & strikes the hour & once on the half hour on the traditional ansonia cast iron mounted gong. The movement is original & unmodified. It shows no evidence of damage, wear or repair & is in perfect operational order with good tolerances. The lead weighted, silvered brass pendulum is original & it is complete with its original brass Ansonia stamped key.
The case is original & has not been restored, repolished, or modified in any way. The original Ansonia paper label is intact on the backboard. The etched, hand drawn glass door is original & in perfect, unworn condition.
The overall size is 24 inches x 13 inches.
