IMPHO directly collaborated with the artist, himself, in creating this magnificent Race image of GP journeyman and Aussie battler, Anthony 'ANT' West entitled 'Persistence'. 'Westy', as he is better know is arguably the best wet weather roadracer of our time, having won and placed on the podium a number of times in his career as a 250cc GP rider. Ant promised the ability to race head to head with the best, however, was unable to bring with him the sponsorship dollars needed to secure a competitive seat. 'Mr Persistence' continued his quest for glory, securing a competitive ride in World Supersport after replacing Kevin Curtain on the Yamaha R6. Westy secured a third in his first race and then backed it up with two wins in the following two rounds.

But, MotoGP is where Ant West knew he belonged, he just needed the chance and the machine to prove himself. Finally, in 2007 Westy was given a test with 'Team Green' on the MotoGP Kawasaki ZX-RR when O.J. was outed by injury. Westy was impressive in his maiden hit out and as a result secured his 'lifes dream' to at last ride a competitive bike in a Premier Class Factory Team. Since then Westy has been nothing short of brilliant, having placed 11th in his first MotoGP at Donington and then finishing 9,8,7 and 12 respectively in the last 4 starts. An amazing feet for a 'rookie' in the class.
