Home ill, Constance finds herself gazing at the pained face of the grandfather clock which stands in the hall. Tick, tock, Con-stance, tick, tock, come in, say the voices in the clock. Con obeys, and finds herself in an alien world. She encounters the bizarre creatures who inhabit time's kindom - some mythical, some sinister, some pure comic invention. As she tries to escape through the intricate cogs, wheels and chains that mark time's passing, she has to solve some very ingenious riddles, puzzles and number games.
