Item specifics
Condition: UsedProduct Type: Bell & Howell projector

c1945. Made in England. G.B. - Bell & Howell early cast-metal 16mm film projector. A professional quality projector which would have been used by institutions, schools, the armed forces etc.

All working as far as we can tell. The motor runs, both frontwards and backwards. The projector bulb works. We do not have film to run through it. We could not test the sound system either, although the switch from Silent to Sound changes the revs and the sound of the unit so it appears to be all working. But selling as it.

It has all of its original belts. The two metal and spool holder uprights come apart and are stored separately in the case. With all of its knobs. Missing one rubber knob underneath, but it is so heavy that it does not tilt. The little orange lamp light that appears when it is running is not working, as bulb is likely burned out. The only faults we can find on it and mentioned here for accuracy.

It comes with its original electrical cord, with its special plugs for the Bell & Howell. Takes standard Australian household power supply. The cord is old and has lost its outer, protective layer but it still works. Not sure how safe this is and it should be inspected by an expert before being used much.

It comes with its handled, hard case, which has a built-in speaker. The speaker has a very long cord and was probably designed to be moved away from the projector and closer to the audience. The inside of the case includes its original leather strap holders, which hold the two projector uprights in place. The case clips into the bottom of the projector so it is all carried as one.

Somewhat rarer 240v. Two little dials underneath (not shown) are to be turned to the correct DC and AC. The choice is from 200 to 250 each.

Rare and hard to find early professional 16mm projector from this maker. Amazing that it is still running, and with its extra parts like this.

Buyer will be very pleased.
