Antique Adderley Trio
Description: An attractive trio made by William Alsager Adderley & Co, at their Daisy Bank Pottery works in Longton, Staffordshire. It carries their back stamp for 1886.
Condition: The trio is in superb condition, free from chips, cracks and crazing. The intricate, hand painted pattern is as new, with no visible defects. There are a few very tiny firing dots on the plate (I only mention it for total accuracy).
Size: The squat tea cup stands 5cms tall and measures 9cms across. The deep saucer has a diameter of 13.6cms and the matching side plate measures 17.4cms across.
Decor: The name of the hand-painted pattern is 'Cuckoo'. Each piece has the bird in the centre, surrounded by cartouches of multi-coloured fruits on stems and leaves.
Rococo-style scrolls enclose the cartouches, with chain -link scrolls around the centre of the plates. The green sections are made up of 100's of small brown circles, with a tiny dot in the centre of each.
An intricately hand decorated trio, from William Adderley & Co. It's around 120+ years old and in superb condition.

Please Note:
Most of our items are antique, vintage and/or used. They are very often in a condition less than perfectly new. If you require item to be in pristine new condition, then you should probably buy from an antique store where you can inspect them personally.
Many Victorian items are without a back mark. I am not an antiques dealer, but try to be as accurate as possible in all of my listings. I research makers and time of manufacture in purpose bought reference books as much as time allows. However if you are unsure or don't understand what you're looking at, then it's best if you don't bid.
NB: I try very hard to be as accurate as possible, but I do not use callipers. All measurements stated should be taken as approximates.
Don't forget to notify me of your purchase via the checkout function. My banking details can be found there also.
Paypal is the only method of payment for international buyers.
Please take the time to give feedback, but if there are any problems be sure to discuss it before leaving negative feedback. This is after all supposed to be a pleasant experience.
