Item Description:
This is a gorgeous antique solid dark oak office desk. It features a beautiful escritoire that includes a beautiful roll top that has a lock mechanism with 1 key, 6 drawers with inserts for labels, a total of 20 shelves and 2 small drawers. In addition the desk has a total 8 drawers well constructed with dovetail joinery and they have traditional facings with lovely wooden handles. The pedestal drawers have a unique lock mechanism as they remain open whenever the roll top is opened all the way up otherwise they remain locked if left closed. Some of the drawers have convenient dividers and though they may have separations on their bottom surfaces they work well as they are. One of the drawers has labeled Withy Grove Stores. This piece may show minor age appropriate signs of wear including wood imperfections and separations but as shown it is overall in very good cosmetic and structural condition considering its age, circa 1920, and it is strong, sturdy and very heavy, of top quality! This makes an excellent piece of furniture suitable for home or office.
