This is a cedar bed that I believe to be around 100 years old. The finish is in the original condition. It has a hand carved detail on the head of the bed. It has many marks and blemishes as you would expect on a piece of this age. The largest of the blemishes are on the footer of the bed.
This bed will fit a standard single mattress (190x92cm). Mattress is not included.
The bed can be disassembled for transport. The head and footer can be detached from the iron rails. The base of the bed is a piece of chip-board that has been screwed to the original wooden bearers and cross pieces. The chip-board is still usable, but may need to be replaced in future depending on usage. Castors have been added to this bed a long time ago by my relative. The rear castors have seized. I have never tried to remove the castors.
