Up for auction is this 18th century Chelsea plate, signed with a red anchor mark. It is a Sir Hans Sloane botanical plate. First time I have ever owned one and I believe they are very difficult to come by. This has an old collection tag on the back that states it is from the Kenneth J. Maier collection and dates circa 1765. There is a crack as shown on the back with a 3 staple repair. This has a lot of highpoint stacking wear as shown in the photos, and some general paint wear, but it still displays nicely. There are no chips and no other repairs. Measures 8&1/2".
