Antique Chinese Horseshoe Back Chair

In very good condition this hand carved antique Chinese Horseshoe Back Chair is very solid and very sturdy. The horseshoe back chair was the seat of honour in Chinese homes, used for ceremony and reserved for important guests. The chairs would be placed in a reception room where their imposing size and proportions were designed to impress.This is a fine example of a classic Chinese design. Beautiful carved detail on the back slat and bent wood support
