RELISTED DUE TO NON PAYING BUYER.

This lovely clock is from circa 1880, or could be earlier.

It has wonderful carving in leaf and grape style. There would have been a top at some stage, but it is unfortunately no longer with the clock. There is fine carving on the front of the case, and in the dial. The number 5 is missing, and there are little chips missing from the case, but they are not noticable. Just remember this is 120+ years old! The hands are hand carved.

The movement is wooden plate with brass gears, and the bellows are in good condition. The bellow tops appear to be skin, they do not look like paper. The weights and carved pendle are there aswell. The clock case is 42cm high.

The clock will run and keeps good time, but the cuckoo side of things is hit and miss. One day it seems to run fine and the next day nothing. It could do with a service, I think this would solve the cuckoo call issue, if it does not sell in the next 10 days I will keep it in my collection. The movement is 30hour. The cuckoo bird has an opening beak and flapping wings, he has been gluded to his perch, and will need fixing. The bird is nicely made and painted, his shape determines that this is and early clock. This type of bird is seen in Beha clocks of similar age.

This is a good clock, and with a little TLC it will be even better.
