From Laos, in Southeast
Asia, this traditional antique pipe consists of a ceramic water chamber, braced
by metal struts and a center plate with a cone for burning the smoking
substance. It has been beautifully decorated with a hand
painted design of a man fishing by a river bank, shaded by a willow tree.
There are also Chinese characters in faded indigo. A thin metal rod serves as a
mouthpiece that fits neatly into the base of the pipe. This is one of the most
charming ceramic water pipes we have found. The
pipe is old and consequently the glaze has crazed but there are no cracks.
Natural stains caused by age are present on the ceramic chamber and the metal
fixtures have experienced some oxidization. For dimensions and shipping costs
