This is a truly exquisite little period Provencal carved, pine buffet. These pieces are extremely rare as they were only made for a period of around 50 years from the mid 1850s. The carving as you can see from the photos is breathtaking, and the piece has all the joy and lightness of those pieces specially created for marriages. It probably started its life as part of a larger dresser and has been recreated as a buffet some time in the last 150 years. It has been completely restored and is beautifully waxed finished by one of Sydney's top antique restorers. A reluctant sale due to house renovations.
