Antique French sterling silver rhinestone drop earrings

  

 

This beautiful pair of drop earrings is in very good condition.

Each piece is marked with what looks like a tiny boars head to the loop of the screw indicating they are sterling silver and French in origin. I cannot find a maker's mark. The stones are golden white in colour and are foil backed. Each is claw set in an open back, except for the top stone which has a closed setting. The stones are brilliant in their clarity.

The stones are linked by small soldered silver links and swing and move well with the wearer.

The fittings are screw fittings and work well.

The earrings are 50mm in length with each stone measuring 10mm across.

There is some tarnish to the settings.

For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
