Antique German Papier Mache Cloth Doll Glass Sleep eyes

Over the next few months I will be listing a lot of antique, vintage and collectable items from my mother's estate as unfortunately I cannot keep them all. I will also be downsizing my antique doll collection.

Up for auction is for an antique papier-mache shoulder head doll. On the back of shoulderhead it is marked Germany  7 1/2  S5 (or maybe S with sickle ?)  She is  18 inches tall.  Is dressed as a girl but could be dressed as a boy as has short moulded hair with part. Actual head is excellent, shoulder has mild crazing and 2 small chips on the edge. She has lovely blue glass eyes that sleep perfectly and a cloth body that is stuffed with what feels like wood shavings (or excellsior). There is a stamped marking on her body but cannot make out what it says except DAPHNE 18 inches.Legs & Arms are jointed  with stitched fingers on hands and separate thumbs. The body is solid, no holes, but material is a bit aged stained. Her clothes are vintage but probably not original ( unless the doll was bought undressed & mummy made clothes. They are of the same era). She has pretty little pink cotton panties with tiny roses on them, a pink cotton 1/2 slip with antique lace on bottom (lg hole in back of slip), and blue handknitted wool dress with press stud closure at back,  with handcrochet overcollar.  She is in very good condition for her age and would make a lovely addition to your antique doll collection.
