Antique Large Wood & Brass Treasure Chest Jewellery Box

Hi Ebayers! I’m pleased to offer this wonderful old jewellery box. It is in the shape of a treasure chess and is made of solid Australian hardwood timber. It is decorated with brass with the corners and edges being reinforced with brass. The 2 spacious drawers extend the full depth of the case. The upper section has a hinged lid and a wood “floor”. There is a handle on each end.

This item dates from the late 1800s and was part of my late mother’s collection. We are moving to our retirement house so some of her treasures must find new homes.

It is in very good condition considering its age. There is a chip of wood off the rear bottom corner and there is a small split developing on one drawer.

It measures 25 cm or 10 inches across, stands 24 cm or 9 ½ inches. It weighs over 3 kg unpacked. A HEAVY SOLID UNIT

It will be boxed for safer delivery.

I DO combine items for some big savings on postage on the additional items. I basically charge Australia Post costs plus $1.00 per item. Therefore, it may only cost an extra $1.00 to post small additional items.

I sell a wide variety of vintage, collectable and unusual items and, unless otherwise stated, they are not in new condition. When I list items I try to describe them as fully as possible. I also take as good a photo as possible showing the true condition of the item. I am not an expert in all areas and occasionally make mistakes in my description. If you see an error, feel free to email me so corrections can be made.

My wish is to find new caretakers for my collections, should there be a fault I have overlooked, by all means I would refund in reverse payment, postage excluded. All items listed are on an "AS IS" basis unless otherwise stated. I hope you are happy with your new TREASURE OR TREAT.

Postage and Packaging

·        I pack, as I would hope others would pack for me

·        I am always happy to combine postage costs

·        Additional postage services are available on request

·        I prefer to send fragile or expensive items by registered mail as it gives a guarantee of safe delivery as well as $100 insurance. If this item sells for more than $30.00 it will be sent by registered mail. Paypal requires that items have tracking numbers.

·        Lost packages or breakages due to the negligence of Australia Post will not be refunded, however all attempts will be made to advise buyer of the time, date and place of postage, that they may attempt to track the item.

A: Hi, The corners are square and are nailed. Not glued- Not dovetail.
