This bookcase secretaire was purchased in 1983 in North Melbourne for $1,150. I have no idea of its origin or age. It is in sound condition but needs a bit of TLC as it has some surface scratches (see picture).

It is 2.1m high, 1.21m wide and 50 cm deep at the bottom. The top comes off for moving, has glass doors and three adjustable height shelves. The desk/bureau part has 4 cubby holes and 6 small drawers. The bas has one shelf.

As requested I have added more pictures. While doing this I also found a crack in the left hand cupboard door which I had not noticed before, shown in the close up in picture 5.

Fyans Creek is about 3km from Halls Gap which is in the centre of the Grampians, approx. 260km from Melbourne, approx. 20kms off the Western Highway.

 Q: Hi Frank, where is Fyans Creek, near the grampians ? Other thn the scracthes, do the doors close OK, not warped, are there any cracks thru shrinkage of the timbers, or anythinks else I should be aware of ? thanks.
A: Fyans Creek is right next to Halls Gap - 3kms away. The doors catch a little on the frames as you close them but they fully close and can be locked with the supplied keys. There are no obvious signs of cracking on the... Continue reading
