This ship has been in our family all my life and was brought by my ancestor's when they migrated to Australia. It has also been described by my family as being modelled from the breast-bone of a "molly-hawk" (evidently the "molly hawk is an albatross).

Our recent research has found that bone-ships were modelled by prisoners of the Napoleonic wars who used the bones of cooked food for this purpose.

We have no evidence that this is the case/or not with this ship however, it was interesting to find that modelling ships from bone was not an isolated practise.

This ship is very fragile so that posting may not be safe.  Cash on pick-up is preferred.
