Germany 1858 "Happy Lady"

Welcome to Darque Antiques & Collectables.

Presenting a very unique item. What can I tell you about this piece? It is stamped underneath as "Germany 1858". I have no idea if this was the date it was made, however it most certainly looks old and the metal parts have quite a heavy patina and wear such as around the clock face. The glass on the clock face has a bevel finish on the edges, another sign of it's age.

 

The body and base of the "Happy Lady" seems to be made out of cast iron or similar as it is quite heavy.

 

Certainly a lovely old piece and not a common thing to find, I collected clocks for a while and never came across one of these.

Faults and Damage
No chips, cracks or damage. The cover on the clock face closes perfectly flat, however it does not snap closed.
