An immaculate,'High Nouveau' pair of rather large solid silver dress buttons in excellent condition,this fantastic pair features as a traditional dress button set with a short shank fitments upon the reverse for threading to a desired garment,a matched pair the face of each button is beautifully releifed and carved with the bust of a handsome 16th century soldier upon a delicately patterned and turned surface haloed in a superb grecian styled outer gallery, full assay markings are present for birmingham silver,circa 1900 and the makers mark 'L&S' for Levi & Salaman whom were manufacturing silversmith of birmingham during the period..
