Description: Item up for auction is an antique spittoon with a Royal Doulton backstamp dating it to the years 1902-1922. There is a letter in blue that leads us to believe this one was created closer to 1902 than 1922. Spittoon is 7" deep, 7.5" in diameter at the opening and 5.25" in diameter at the base. It is "pot bellied" and measures 23.5" in circumference. Pattern is "Madras" and this pattern decorates the sides of the spittoon, inner and outer aspects of the "collar" of the spittoon. We note a damaged area that has been repaired with clips- see photos. Lovely old spittoon with great clear pattern and nice backstamp for dating item. Please email w questions prior to bidding.
