Singer treadle machine in oak cabinet. The serial number Y678445 dates it to the Clydebank factory in Scotland of 1929 with the classic Scottish thistle decals on the machine. This machine is in good working order. It was last used to make curtains for our holiday house (which has no electric power). This item is a fully functioning machine and a beautiful piece of antique furniture as well. The 'tiger stripe' oak veneer woodwork is generally in very good condition. The top is in need of sanding and a new clear coat, which would be an easy job. It is a great example of a classic sewing machine. The unit features the standard six side drawers with the centre flip down bobbin and thread drawer. in addition the machine comes with the original instruction manuals (believe me these come in very handy!) as well as the original fold out bobbin, foot and accessory box which is a lovely piece in its own right and hard to find. As a complete package this stands as a functioning collector's piece. This item is offered as is for cash on pick up only with no return policy. |
