Great Victorian Christmas/New Years Holiday Greeting Card for the Newspaper Carrier Boy from THE EVENING JOURNAL dated 1887.  The card measures 6 5/8" by 9" and is 8 pages plus front and back cover.  The card is in excellent condition....missing an attachment glued on cover. 

The inside is a story of how many people depend on the delivery of the newspaper by the Carrier Boy/Newspaper Boy.

"That his coming is greeted by young Maids fair, And old Maids prim, with frosty hair, By Merchants important and Lawyers bright, And the Workman toiling from morning till night, The Parson good, and the Grandmother kind; You may search the world over and never find a life so gay as his!  And they'll chip in their halves(50 cts.) and quarters(25 cts.) and he knows, When the New Year comes and the Old Year goes - And he carriers THE EVENING JOURNAL".
