Antique Victorian Cedar Oval Dining / 'Loo' Table!

As shown in the photos, for sale here is this beautiful Antique Victorian Cedar OVAL 'Loo' Table!

A Loo Table is a table designed for the game of Loo, a six-handed card game popular in the 19th C. Usually having an oval or round top, and with a hinged and snap mechanism fitted to a pedestal base, so that the table could be stored when not in use.

As you can see, it would make a lovely breakfast / small dining table, and of course a fabulous card table! :)

It is in very good condition with only lights scuffs and and no damage to the timber at all.  The top is in fabulous condition with only 2 small character 'dents'. 

There are 2 brass handled screws that hold the table top to the base and on which it pivots into the upright position. The brass clipping mechanism that holds the top down when in the lowered position is there and works well, with a lever that is pulled to release the clips.

As the top can be removed, this makes it much easier to transport.

The turned pedestal and 3 legs are just magnificent!  Very strong and sturdy. 

Dimensions:  97cm wide  x  120cm long and 76cm high.
