Antique Wooden & Gilt Bronze Louise XV Clock w. Cherub
This very beautiful antique wooden Louise XV style mantel clock is
made in France in the second part of the 19th century.
Wooden case is veneered, in front ornate with fine moulded gilt bronze on solid bronze support. In the centre original glass window with pendulum behind. Clock is surmounted by bronze figurine of a Cherub.
Cherub is holding a bird and trumpet.
Enamel dial with Roman numerals with minor chips around winding holes.
Movement is in working condition chiming at the 1/1 and 1/2 hours on a silvered bronze bell.
Movement stamped: Vor Singery a Paris.
Famous clock maker: Japy Freres Medailles D’OR Années 1823-27-34-39-44-49.
At the back movement protected by a glass door.
Key and pendulum included.
